Quantity of Titles on Best of Year Booklists on DorothyL

As long as the book titles submitted were amongst your most memorable books of the year, I feel one ought to be able to list them all, instead of arbitrarily listing ten. We don't read the same number of books in a year, why should we have the same number of Memorables?

In the year that I did a survey of DL readership, the minimum number of books read was 8 and the maximum 1000. So the number of Best of Year titles would naturally be different for different readers.

In the summary for the year, I will post average number of titles reported.

There is no difference in the collation team's effort for processing 25 titles than for processing 10.

I would like to say that if you lump all the titles by author together into one item so as to cut down length of your list, it helps no one, since it will count as one entry only and will not roll up into other titles for that author which have been listed by other people.
