JOURNEY TO DIE FOR by Radine Trees Nehring

By Theresa de Valence - Posted on 28 January 2011

As a gift from Best of 2009 on DorothyL, I received JOURNEY TO DIE FOR from Radine Trees Nehring. For some unaccountable reason, I didn’t pull this book off my TBR pile until last week.

The heroine, Carrie McCrite, is part of a grey haired couple who are supposed to be retired, but they are drawn (mostly willingly) into murder in Arkansas. This is #6 of the series and I bolted through it in one sitting.

Historical aspects about trains and Arkansas gave especial charm. The sleuths are slightly improbable but sweet and enjoyable. The bad guys are easily telegraphed, but this doesn’t diminish the story.

When you’re in the mood for cuddling in a nice armchair with a satisfying story, A JOURNEY TO DIE FOR makes a pleasant choice.
