Best Books of 2009 on DorothyL

By Theresa de Valence - Posted on 08 February 2010

From December through February, readers of DorothyL listserv posted their favourite books read for the first time during 2009 to the DorothyL list. From the general list, our team distributed the relevant emails to volunteers, each of whom copied, cleaned and pasted data from those emails into an Excel spreadsheet which they each forwarded to me. I did some more data cleansing, and then sent out a cry to the list for more volunteers to check copyright dates of books which had been submitted. A great deal of the research was done using www.StopYoureKillingMe.com (an exceptional resource for mystery buffs), http://WorldCat.org library catalogue and other online sites. From the final data, I created pivot tables which produced the information included in the attached reports. Many thanks to 2009 Volunteers for their help.

Thanks for posting these lists. It's a genuine thrill to see myself and my novel, IDENTITY CRISIS, included. I feel privileged to be in such awesome company.

Best,
Debbi
